As part of the AfriConEU program, the International Brokerage Event aims to support DIHs and the ecosystems they work with to become more skilled, sustainable, and specialized. The two-day event will focus on three main activities:
- Presenting good practices in the African and European innovation ecosystems
- Networking and developing strategic partnerships among the participants
- Identifying challenges and opportunities connected to the work of AfriConEU
As a participant, you'll get to hear from experts from all around Africa, Europe, and the African Diaspora about their work to support African innovation and entrepreneurship.
You'll take part in conversations about the future of collaborations between Africa and Europe.
And you'll connect with a community of colleagues from across various backgrounds, with a focus on building partnerships leading to new projects and opportunities.
Two Impactful Days
Day 1 of the event will focus on high-level presentations by a diverse groups of speakers. Each panel will include a round table discussing the vertical for 30 minutes, followed by 20 minute breakout sessions allowing the individual speakers to talk about their experience in depth.
The panels and speakers will be focusing on the following sectors:
- Agriculture Technology
- Technology for Development
- Education Technology
- Financial Technology
Day 2 of the event will focus on interactive discussions between all of the participants. Participants will be encouraged to collaborate and identify challenges and opportunities related to transversal themes explored in the panel discussions on Day 1:
- Business and investment opportunities in the African market
- Digitalisation, jobs for the 21st century and employment opportunities
- Scouting digital entrepreneurs and startups in the African market
- Towards a common digital market and a connected startup ecosystem
Networking

- Set 20-minute 1-to-1 meetings
- Hold video calls for remote meetings
You'll have access to the platform for about a week after the end of the event, to continue conversations and book meetings you might not have enough time for during the Brokerage Event itself.
Event Sessions
The platform will also let you book for the breakout and other sessions. If you're not able to join the session in person, you'll also be able to watch that session on the platform itself.
